Engaging students in learning through the arts, history and the environment
Explore Vizcaya On Your Own
Vizcaya was created as James Deering’s subtropical winter home in the 1910s and today it is a National Historic Landmark and accredited museum. Vizcaya presents learning opportunities in an environment unlike any other in Miami. We offer visits, thematic tours and programs to are aligned to our learning outcomes. One-hour tours and programs support national and state learning benchmarks in English/Language Arts, History/Social Studies and Visual Arts. Vizcaya includes 34 public rooms on several floors and 11 acres of grounds, so each tour or program may not include all areas of the Main House and gardens. For a detailed description of each experience, our policies and procedures, and reservation instructions, visit our school group reservation overview table.
